Michael... Chuck Work here.... You may remember... Dan Toomey and I ( as former AUSAs in DC) worked to oppose the nomination of Ed Martin to be US Attorney in DC. We and importantly others were able to convince Sen Tillis to stop him in Committee. We hope to launch a similar campaign opposing the Blanche nomination. Tillis is a key. He listens to current and former Capitol Hill police officials. Can you and perhaps others help by talking to him. I know he will listen to you. Thanks. Chuck

Good to know. I have friends in NC and will urge them to contact Tillis office about this.

IMHO Tinpot Trump believes he can overcome the consequences of not providing enough bread. The French monarchy tried that. It didn’t work out very well for the monarchy.

And ‘Ol Tinpot has made himself the spectacle for entertainment (or circus as he is the clown), but that has dropped far from what he considers fun for himself. It has dropped far from accolades and the rage effort is visibly sucking the life out of him. Enfeebled as he now is, he just wants to go to sleep. Much like a baby in desperate need of rest, he frequently has fits of temper. There must be a cure for it. That is immediate removal by mechanisms that will stand up in law. Johnson won’t facilitate it. Thune might. JD is now being run around like a dog chasing sheep just to keep him away from attempting the 25th. The plebs are getting very restless. New leadership is required.

DISRESPECTFUL ... the man has no class and he's burdened this country with his imbecilic proclivities. He put that ugly thing in front of the White House. That's the second most disgusting thing so far since the demolition of the East Wing of the White House. Thank goodness his name is being ripped off the Kennedy Center - it should have never been there in the first place. It's time to stop this narcissist from doing anymore harm, destruction to Washington, DC. Enough is enough!!!

And of course no mention EVER by Putin's Coffee-boy that the quisling's birthday is FLAG Day. And the flags we Americans fly are NOT about him, and will never be. (Flag Day this year is another No Kings Day.)

I drove through Hollywood today. There is the biggest billboard I've ever seen advertising this fiasco on Paramount of course. It's located where every tourist walks by….no one that lives here gives a shit about it.

That's the inflation rate not counting food and fuel - both of which are going up far more than 4%

"'Bread first,' tell them. 'Then we can talk about circuses.'”

He's doing everything he can to avoid the first, that's for damn sure.

In case you're interested, Jim Acosta is live-streaming the removal of someone's name from The Kennedy Center. There may be others doing this as well, but Acosta's set-up came up in front of me on Substack. There are guys on scaffolding that doesn't look high enough to reach it, but...? (Acosta's not my favorite guy, but I wanted to see this and hadn't even thought to look for it.)

"Ain't that cute." That would be my dead father's terse Downeast response, moral condemnation and disgust in three words.

The "bread and circuses" framing lands precisely because it exposes the updated formula: no bread, just the circus and a $12,000 ticket to prove you love the emperor.

The real story isn't the cage fight. It's that a private family business is monetizing a public event at a taxpayer-funded venue, in the same week inflation hit a three-year high. Those two facts belong in the same sentence, and most coverage keeps them in separate articles.

The people who believed the grocery store speech in 2024 deserved a president who meant it. What they got was a commemorative coin.
