I’m 43 now. Since my 18’s, I have a habit of playing 90 minutes intense mini-soccer with my friends (a lot of them still play as well). Old habits die hard, at least not as hard as my knees 🤦♂️😂
Since you brought up your weekly BYOB live shows, I have a new habit though. I come home of sporting, I eat and then I watch the recording of your videos. It’s an honor. I can’t say it enough: I really like your honesty and your pure soul. It’s an honor and a pleasure to get to know you better as well as your close friends and family. I also like your humor. You are one of the guys who attracts “special events” and you also surround yourself with people who just love to do that. I’m going to drink a beer tonight. I bought “Omer”, it’s a strong blond beer from Belgium and one of my favorites (although I have many favorites). And it kicks like a mule. It certainly bamboozles the hell out of you! 😂 It will be in honor of you and your friend Matt because I fucking liked the story about the swastidick… Not only very funny but also very inspiring. I think you are blessed to had him in your life and personally I think you honor his spirit every day, by fighting fascism and just being yourself.
Vera!? Love this. Never would have guessed this from you. British crime drama is the best… Happy Valley, Line of Duty, Broadchurch, Endeavour… so so many really good ones.
With all due respect… this was the hottest substack video ever. I usually listen in my car and nearly wrecked a few times. With that said…. we ladies won’t have an issue with future shirtless videos.
Beastie Boys 🤩. Matt sounds like you’re Twin from another mother. I’m sure you’re making Matt laugh all the time with “You being unapologetic You”😎RIP MATT🌸
Wish I could have joined live. Really enjoyed the wide-ranging discussion, especially the nostalgia about the music scene in DC in the 80s and trying to decide which band to go see on any given night! I hung out mainly on the “power pop”/rock side, but a lot of the pop/rock and punk/hardcore bands played the same venues (old 9:30 Club; DC Space), knew each other and had a lot of mutual respect. I live in Arlington and remember Dischord House (though I never visited). Wondering if you ever knew my old friend Davis White who had a couple of bands back then - Media Disease and Repercussion - and was later in Lorelei and others. My two brothers were in Repercussion with Davis, and their 1991 album, sold on cassette tapes at their gigs, totally holds up!
I love Matt, how he handled the racist was one of the best stories that I have heard.
You’re a good man, Mike.
That was fun to watch. I need to catch you live sometime. You're on at silly o'clock here in the UK, but I'll stay up.
Glad to hear you can ship to the UK! If I'm ever not skint I'll get one of those shirts!
Watching you get a tattoo was the highlight of my week. Thank you, Michael! 🍻
Well now I need new ink!
Your voice was awesome in the book.

Take care, stay safe and stay who you are.

Public service announcement: if anybody wants to hear the word “bamboozle” some more, Robert Reich and Heather Lofthouse are all over it in their “Saturday Coffee Klatch” this morning… https://robertreich.substack.com/p/the-era-of-the-great-bamboozle-the?utm_source=podcast-email&publication_id=365422&post_id=163746748&utm_campaign=email-play-on-substack&utm_content=watch_now_button&r=ma3wi&triedRedirect=true&utm_medium=email

Hey! This was terminated! What tatt were you getting on your back? We need a sequel!
Well, as promised: to Matt and to you @Michael Fanone !
You both have great cuts.

Ha, if you like “the Good, the Bad and the Ugly”… and hopefully British humour, watch the first episode of “Life on Mars” with John Simm.
